Doug’s Vvolt rider story is the most exciting one we’ve received in a while. We know the Centauri II is a city-riding powerhouse, but we weren’t sure it would meet and exceed expectations as a long-distance touring ebike.
Here’s his story:
I just wanted to let you know I’ve returned from a 1200+ mile touring ride from Oregon to San Diego aboard my Centauri II! I rode 70-80 miles a day with over 75,000’ of elevation gain on the trip. On several days, I climbed passes approaching 9,000’ above sea level using the Chill, Eco, and Tour modes. I began to look forward to conquering these hills with the help of my Vvolt. After riding for 18 days straight, I now have 2,200 miles on it, having logged over 100 miles on my longest day out on tour. Of course, I carried a spare battery with me to accomplish this, and I stayed in places with available power to charge overnight.
The bike performed flawlessly, with no mechanical issues whatsoever. I appreciate the solid reliability and look forward to more long-distance touring on my Centauri II– thanks!

Thank you, Doug! This is a huge validation that we’re not only making a good city ebike, we’re making a truly competent electric bicycle with capabilities exceeding our design goals! The first time we tested the powertrain that would become the heart of Centauri II, we knew we were onto something with the smooth-shifting automatic hub transmission and powerful M100 motor paired with the strong and silent Gates CDX belt drive system.
